1. do you have a favorite konkani cookbook? i have recenly taken interest in konkani cuisine because i like the variety of fruits and vegetables they use in their cooking. i love jackfruit, but never know what to do with it except eat it raw. and i never knew the rags can be made into pickles! i always thought you throw them! it helps to know how to use jackfruit in so many ways. especially how we can have it with our daily meals.
2. do you have a favorite place to get traditional cookware? i love our traditional granite grinders, stone mills, mortar pestles, and even brass and clay pots for cooking. but don’t know of a quality place to get them in which they are made very well and artistically done.
superb……….got to eat a different version at my sis’s place in alleppy.
Thank you Usha.
Oooh-this brings back such fond memories! My mom, and grandmom would make this! I’ve never tried making this as I don’t get fresh jackfruit-do you think it’ll taste the same if I used the tinned (raw)jackfruit?
Thank you Sweta. I do not know whether the canned jackfruit can be a substitute for the fresh ones. You can atleast try. If it comes tasty then well and good. Then you can wwrite a comment on this.
